San Patrignano Sales 2006
The dream, or rather the goal, which Vincenzo Muccioli had clear in his mind when, together with some of the youngsters from the community, he started the San Patrignano stud, was to offer a major contribution to the “Italian horse” by selecting a specific blood line able to enhance the latter’s morphology and competitive potential and take it back up to the top of international show-jumping.
Today, almost thirty years after the project first saw the light, the results are there for all to see. Many of the great horses of the San Patrignano Jumping Team, which have reaped victories on courses the world over, are brood-mares and stallions in our stables and the foals born within the community have already shown what they can do under the saddles of champions such as Franke Sloothaak, Jerry Smit and Gianni Govoni.
The horses being presented at this auction are the upshot of a precise breeding strategy: an ongoing commitment towards harmonising the mission of a rehabilitation centre that considers horses to be an exceptional instrument along the therapeutic path of marginalized persons and drug addicts, with the goal of achieving a stud farm and a team able to operate at the very highest levels in terms of quality and competitiveness.
