Olympic Preview at San Patrignano's CSI5*

The international show jumping competition dedicated to San Patrignano’s founder Vincenzo Muccioli is proving this year to be a dress rehearsal of the upcoming Olympic Games.
The twelfth edition of the CSI5*, scheduled to be held on the hills above Rimini over the weekend of July 18-20, will feature some of the most important names competing in Beijing next month. Belgian rider Jos Lansink riding his grey stallion Cumano, fourth in the team competition in the 2005 European Championship at San Patrignano, will compete, as will Gerco Schröder, 11th in the worldwide ranking and team bronze at San Patrignano 2005 and top Swiss rider Christina Liebherr with No Mercy. All of them will have the chance to make their final adjustments before the Games during this important competition.

The “Acqua Uliveto Grand Prix”, with prize money totaling more than €200,000, will see over 45 riders competing on courses designed by Swiss duo Rolf Lüdi and Heiner Fischer.

“Horses have always been an intrinsic part of life at San Patrignano. Many of the most important moments in our history have been horse-related”, explained Andrea Muccioli, head of the Community since 1995, “. He added, “Thanks to them, people from around the world know about our work and about the results we have achieved in the fight against drugs.
In 2005 we wrote an important page in history by being the first drug rehabilitation center to host the European Championship. Most importantly, through our horses hundreds of young people have been able to leave drug addiction behind. For us this is the biggest victory”.

On Friday entry to the show is free of charge, while Saturday and Sunday the cost is €10. Those carrying a FISE card are exempt from paying on all three days.
The Italian national broadcaster, Rai, will air the show on Raisportpiù , July 18 at midnight, Saturday July 19 live on Raisportpiù from 7pm to 8:30pm and live on Rai3 from 5:55pm to 6:55pm, repeating on  19 Raisportpiù alle at half past midnight.
