Eric Lamaze: «Horses are a precious tool»

For the 2008 Olympic Champion (remember, the equestrian competitions were moved to the amazing Hong Kong Jockey Club from Beijing for veterinary health reasons), Canadian Eric Lamaze, it’s the first time at San Patrignano. He had a few words of appreciation to share with us in this regard, “A beautiful horse show, absolutely among the best.

The grass arena is wonderful, the footing is amazing and although the weather was very hot the stables were comfortable for the horses Unfortunately I haven’t been able to see the whole Community, but I have seen the great work being done by the young people here. All sport is a great way to face and overcome problems. Contact with animals and horses is also a great means to do that. The work being done here is really exceptional. If I can I will surely come to the next San Patrignano CSI”, concluded the Canadian rider.

San Patrignano, the day after. When the event gets underway it’s always time to take a deep breath, especially when things are off t a flying start.

The world’s finest horses can only be housed in equally top-notch stables. That’s why the ones at San Patrignano, during the CSI5*, are turned into a bonafide hotel—the five-star kind, of course—where the grooms and their horses can move around as they please to take care of their riders’ mounts.
