Mediaset Prize, Govoni and Love Affair double their victories in the “Grande Chasse”

Another grand finale on this, the second evening of San Patrignano’s CSI5*, as the crowd roared for Gianni Govoni and his Love Affair, winners of the Mediaset Grand Chasse. For the second night running, after the small Grand Prix, Govoni triumphed again.

The Emilia-born rider showed his usual aplomb and speed as he ame in clean with 62”16’, beatine American rider Richard Spooner on Pako, who came in at 63”58’: fast, but not fast enough to beat Govoni.

“And to think”, said Govoni at the end of his round, “that I didn’t think I had gone that fast. I thought I had done well, but nothing like that. Even Beerbaum, if he had ridden without faults, would have come in at 63”08. Certainly after two victories I have to consider wether to ride Love Affair again tomorrow night in the Grand Prix.

Third place for the individual and team Silver winner at the European Championship at San Patrignano in 2005rignano 2005, Swiss rider Christina Liebherr on LB Lilas de la Chaisse, clean 64”71’.

Tomorrow there will surely be qa spectacular loast day with the Acqua Uliveto Grand Prix and the Vincenzo Muccioli Challenge, beginning at 9:30pm and live on RaiSport at 9:45 local Italian time.

German victory in the Grand Prix Acqua Uliveto – 13th Challenge Vincenzo Muccioli, tank to the spectacular performance of Toni Hassmann riding Lolita H. In front of 5000 people on the grandstands, Hassman prevailed over the other eight riders in the jump off.

Just hours bifore at the gala lunch he had said “I want to win at San Patrignano. And he did. Egypts’s Abel Said riding Avenir was the winner of the Tamoil Prize, winning round category and second class of the day the the CSI5* San Patrignano.

A German victory in the consecutive phase class open to young horses which opened the second day of competition in the CSI5* at San Patrignanno. It was Toni Hassmann on Baron Pkz, the last rider to enter the ring, to claim first prize with a double clean in 33”39’.
