Ministry of Tourism Prize, Govoni wins the “triple crown”

We don’t yet know who will win the “Acqua Uliveto” Grand Prix this evening, but we can already name the rider who has left his mark on the 13th “Challenge Vincenzo Muccioli”: Italian Gianni Govoni.
After winning the two most important classes of the show over the last two days, he has once more triumphed on the amazing Love Affair. The crowd went wild during the class sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Tourism as he sped past the competition on the cumulative Jolly class.
Clocking in at 42”79’, Govoni and Love Affair, were able to surpass the Jolly and gain the 65 points necessary to win the class.

“It’s quite an accomplishment”, declared Govoni after his victory, “I don’t know how many riders have won three classes in three days at this level”. altHe added, “Love Affair has been going really well and I am estatic that she has earned these victories. If she has no faults she can always win a competition. As I was among the last to go into the ring, I could watch the other riders go before me and see the difficulties. I would like to dedicate this victory to our new coach, Markus Fuchs. I hope he can help us in what is a difficult moment for our nation’s team”.
The second place went to Clarissa Crotta on Made in Margot. She got the 65 points but in 46”flat, leading until Govoni’s round.
Third place went to Dutch rider Albert Zoer on Uraguay (65; 46,63).
The Italians that made the 65 points were Natale Chiaudani on Milos du Plain (47,67), Piergiorgio Bucci on Da Zara Taxco La Silla (51,83) and Gabriele Grassi (54,36), respectively seventh, ninth and tenth.
