The only show jumping competition organized entirely by the 1500 young men and women of a drug rehabilitation community, San Patrignano’s CSI5*, is celebrating its fifteenth anniversary this year.

The show has become one of t he most anticipated on the show jumping calendar. Since 1997, some of the biggest names in equestrian sports have won the Challenge, including Dutch riders Jos Lansink and Emile Hendrix, England’s John Whitaker, German rider Otto Becker, as well as Italians Juan Carlos Garcia, Vincenzo Chimirri and the unforgettable Guido Dominici.

Thanks to social networking, enthusiasts of equestrian sports can stay in touch in real time through Twitter and Facebook pages dedicated to the San Patrignano CSI5*.

Besides keeping up with the winners, minute by minute coverage and excusive interviews, the new media gives fans a chance to stay in touch directly with the staff and show organization, as well as other horse lovers.

With the brand new Twitter account, the Challenge will offer quick and constant 140 character updates.

Starting this week on the official show web site, as well as on the Facebook fan page, the people behind the show will offer a sneak peek at the preparations of the only such event to be held inside a drug rehabilitation facility.

First up will be long time Show Director Eleonora Ottaviani, while Daniele Sassi, a community resident for the past four years, will explain how one of the jumps made in San Patrignano gets built in the community’s carpentry shop.
