Person-to-person with Emile Hendrix
Technical advisor of the Vincenzo Muccioli Challenge for eight years, Emile Hendrix has a career studded with successes.
Born in 1955 in Heel (Netherlands), he was one of the leading lights of the Dutch team, with which he debuted in 1980 on the occasion of the Nations Cup, won the European bronze team medal the following year and won the gold medal, thanks to the fist place by the Dutch team at the European championships in Baule.
In 2001, he took part as a rider for the last time in the Sanpa CSI5* and, aboard Finesse, won the Vincenzo Muccioli Challenge Grand Prix. He has been the contest’s technical advisor since.
Emile Hendrix – part of the CSI for many years.
Every single time they return to San Patrignano, all those who know and take part in this contest repeat that it really is an unforgettable experience. And this is exactly the same sensation I feel every year. The most important reason for which the CSI* repeats its success year after year is the great job done by all the youngsters in the community.
The international economic scenario is going through a difficult period. Consequently, what’s happening in the show jumping world?
The crisis inevitably involved all the sports world. In spite of the overall crisis, this year’s edition of the Vincenzo Muccioli Challenge feature a large group of top riders, who are pleased to return to compete at San Patrignano
and will find a program based on various requirements. This is thanks to the in-depth efficient organization we always find here and to those who work hard, dedicating their professionalism and support to this event.
Such as Rolex, main sponsor of the CSI.
I think the participation of an important sponsor such as Rolex, a brand synonymous with excellence worldwide, is important news for the event. Rolex has an undertaking with us for the next three years and, considering it only cooperates with the largest international sports events, this enables us to realize the standards achieved by the “Vincenzo Muccioli Challenge”.
