San Patrignano 2009, a parade of medals
San Patrignano’s CSI in 2009 is certainly a competition worthy of Olympic gold. In fact, many of the riders present have a few of their own under their belt, along with a slew of other honors. Some of them seem really to have won nearly everything there is to win!
San Patrignano has welcomed such greats as Eric Lamaze and Hickstead, individual gold and team silver medalists at the last Olympics in Hong Kong. The Beerbaum “family”, meanwhile, has been visiting the Community for years now. Both Ludger and Meredith, the only woman to h ave won three World Cups on the same horse (Shutterfly), are here again this year. The 1998 World Champion at the Rome WEg and gold medallist at Athens in 2004, Rodrigo Pessoa, is also competing, as is individual and team bronze medallist at San Patrignano 2005, Christina Lieheberr. Three of the four members of the World Championship team at Aachen in 2006 are also on course: Albert Zoer, Gerco Schoerder and Jeroen Dubbeldam.
Let’s take a closer look at the top atlete jumping on San Patrignano’s grass field these days.
